Long hair with short layers or long layers??

i have long hair that is just above my bra strap and im looking for a new look! but im not sure if i should get long layers or short layers! i've seen images of long layers and they do look nice but they look a bit too long so i should i get short layers?

what will look good on my hair?

It really depends on your face type, actually.

However, the most commonly suitable hairstyle could be given away by the fact that you have straight hair with a side fringe.

I would definitely say go for shorter layers. Try cutting the strands of yourr side fringe closest to your face the slightest bit shorter to have a somewhat tapered fringe look which looks amazing with short layers.

Long layers suit wavy hair better because the waves cause your hair to look shorter anyway, and short layers can cause a frizzy effect on curly or wavy hair.

So with that being said, if you get short layers, pick up the short strands at the back of your hair, add a little hair spray (even the gloss spray would work) and then scrunch your hair up to your head.

Comb the lower half of your hair and you'll immediately have hair that's straight and funky, with short layers that have some volume at the top of your head. This'll make them stand out a little more without looking over the top.

As for the length of your shortest layer, I'd have these situation around your face and a few at the center/back of your hair. Keep them an inch or so above where your hair starts on the back of your neck.

I'm no expert, but I vote for long layers! You should ask your stylist for her opinion because she can determine what's best for YOUR hair type and what would look best with YOUR face. Hairstyles are not a one-size-fits-all type of thing!

i think you should get long layers to start out with just incase you dont like them and want to be able to grow them out quickly.
