I have a nephew who is 11 years old and he still has (very) long hair for a boy. His mom wants him to cut it. My nephew told his mom that he doesnt want to cut his hair. What do you all think about an 11 yr old boy who has very long hair? His hair is below his butt now.

Does it REALLY matter? No. Is this the 50's? No. Let the kid have his hair the way that he wants.

I think long hair on boys is OK but there is a cut off point. Like even if it were to the bottom of his shoulder plate on his back that would still be a tad too long, but down to his butt is rediculous. His mother should consider cutting it to a reasonable length, that isn't outrageous like it currently is.

Below his BUTT? Oh my gosh... I would suggest cutting it NOW. With hair that long he's probably going to be mistaken for a girl (he probably already has). Kids could make fun of him for it.

Plus when he's older, (this may just be me), but girls might not want to date him because his hair is longer then theirs. Kinda like guys not wanting to date girls taller then them.

If he does decide to cut it (or is forced into it, hehe) I suggest donating his hair to Locks of Love!

Yeah, I would say too bad and that we're getting it cut. We have a rule for the men in my household. They can only grow their hair to their shoulders and that's it.

I know a little boy (age 6 or 7) who's hair was at his shoulders before his mom had it cut. Now it is a lot shorter and actually, it looks better than it did before.

So I say cut it.
