Can fine hair look good long?

My hair is fine but extremely thick (I have a lot of hair). It is heavy and dry. It doesnt hold a curl. It doesnt look good straight. I have always wanted long hair and have grown it to the middle of my back. I want to grow it to my waist but everyone is telling me to cut it because it has split ends and just looks bad.

It looks good in a bob but I want long hair before I am too old to grow it out long.

Is there a trick to making long hair look good when it is fine and always looks messy and stringy? Its blonde right now..can dying it darker make it look better or high/lowlighting it?

I would definitely say that if you want it long.. go for it! If your hair is blond, i would recommend probably adding in some low-lights.. and definitely layering it will help with it being fine. As most people said, use some good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, and always, always use product before blow drying it. Just make sure you get it trimmed ever 4-6 weeks.. or whenever your stylist tells you to, and you should be good.. i would also recommend finding a stylist that you like.. and sticking with them =]

ofcourse it can! all you have to do is make shure you use volumizing shampoo and conditioner, then volumizing spray during the blow dry.

usually long, thin hair looks greasy. try it if you want, but i wouldn't recommend it.
