Help with long hair!?

I really hope someone can help me out here. Okay, I have pretty long hair and I cannot find a way to put it up and make it look cute. I like the way it looks when i put it up and dont pull it all the way thru the hairtie so it makes kind of a bun, but my hair is long and I end up with a tail sticking out from under the "bun" part. What do i do with the "tail" part. I'd love to hear any other how-tos for any other cute messy updos for people with pretty long hair. Thanks!

I have really long hair too! Usually what I do with the little tail is I pin it up under the ponytail with bobby pins. Sometimes I even wrap it around the base of the ponytail and then cover it with a pretty ribbon. Another thing I like to do is to wind my hair up into a high "ballerina bun". You then kinda snag your fingers through it and make it messy but still cute. Another key is to use a styling gel or wax to make it kinda kinky.

you could use bobby pins to secure your "tail" and make it look more put together, or you could braid your hair and wrap it into a bun.

if you want to do the messy bun, you could always wrap the extra tail around the hair tie and bobby pin it, and make it look like you have your hair as a hair tie.

Well, let's see. When ever I put my hair up, I always twist it up into a loose bun. The hair is out of my face and it looks classy.

A french twist, just twist your hair upwards, and put grips along the seam. if your hair is curly or layered it will be naturally messy and cute, but if not you can just pull little bits out around he bottom, and its instant cute lol.

Layers, layers layers. Get them at a salon; don't do them yourself! They'll look good as long as they fit your face shape.

With the 'tail' part? No matter how long or short your hair is, it will make the 'tail' part. Try to pin the 'tail' on the inside.

Have you seen that show on the cw called Gossip Girl? You know the tall blonde Serena Van Der Woodsen in the show? She's got long hair and she had it in a cute updo a few shows ago. Watch that show for hair inspiration. I know i do.
