Why do guys like girl with long hair so much better than with short hair?

I just cut my hair today and it's less than an inch above my shoulders and it flips out but all my guy friends keep asking why i cut it, and they tell me that it's nice but they like longer hair better, why? How come long hair attracts guys first than the short hair girls!?? So if a guy likes you but likes long hair will that keep that from going out with you?

I don't know exactly what it is but long hair just looks prettier and sexier. ALL women actually look better with long hair (to me). I wouldn't be interested enough to go out with a short haired woman. Just my taste. I'm sure that some women wouldn't go out with me for some reasons just like this, so it's fair.

It actually depends on the guy, but part of the reason is that long hair can tickle them. Its a sexual thing that they enjoy. But there are guys out there who prefer women with short hair, and its your hair so you can do what you want with it, it will grow back if you want it too.

Because long hair has always been associated with femininity and beauty. When you look at ancient history even, women who are referred to as beautiful always have long, flowing hair. Paintings and poems depict the same way as well.

After all, if you were to have two girls in one room, both of the same looks, but one with long hair and the other short hair, the guy would 75%+ of the time think the girl with longer hair is more attractive.

Most guys also like to play with your hair and some even find it fascinating-- my fiance thinks my 2 feet long curls (yes, that long) are fun to play with and my guy friends always tell me to never cut my hair either.

In my cultural upbringing, having long hair is a symbol of beauty so it would make sense that many of those guys would prefer long hair over short. But in western culture, I've come across a lot of guys who prefer medium-length hair (at least 5 inches longer than yours). That isn't *too* long.

I wouldn't say guys like girls with long hair *so much better* but it's just one of those little things associated with femininity that many guys can't resist-- sorta like large eyes, Liv Tyler lips, etc.
